I was trying to identify all of the old discs lying around my house tonight when I came across one that was labeled "3-22-02"--exactly 1 year before I had my daughter, Milan. Exactly 1 month before I would be able to live in the same state as my husband for the first time in 6 months.

I have been pulling my hair out over being a single married mother for the last--month? How long has it been?

It did not take much for me to realize that this pity party hasn't been nearly as warranted as that pity party was.

Let me share some details with you.

1. Lived with my parents because Jason was in Air Force tech school and we were trying to sell out house. Hi Mom & Dad!2. Said parents still had 5 kids at sisters and brothers..Sarah, who is married and has 3 kiddos now of her own.

Alyssa, married and has 1 child now--same birthday as Milan 3-22-only he is a 2008 baby.

Leo, who is all growed up and in the Navy now.

Joseph, who doesn't remember me living at home, and who Jason (my husband) held when he was newborn before he was promptly booted out of the house by my father because he caught us acting like more than friends--I was sitting on Jason's lap. (just

Jacob, my youngest brother who was born after I moved out who at this point still did not recognize me as his sister--he saw me as 'Harley's mom'.

3. Life back then with 3 kids 4 and under.
You can't tell, but there are 3 carseats. These two occupied by Jagger and Xander.

Jagger was not quite 2, but he was a force to be reckoned with.

I am sure he wasn't supposed to be playing with that.

Xander was 3.5 months old. I think I stayed tired back then but this picture doesn't depict it as naturally as some of the others on the disc.

Harley related to my brothers better than his own brothers.

Seriously...that was a very loooong 6 months. I think after looking at those and remembering:

1. Jagger spraying Mr. Clean in Xander's eyes.
2. All 3 having the flu at the same time.
3. Morning sickness with Milan shortly after and morning sickness with Xander shortly before.
4. Wondering if Jason would make it to Xander's delivery. (He did!)
5. Getting on an airplane the week before this to let Jason see his son he'd only seen once or twice--when it seemed 9/11 had just happened.
6. Preparing to move to Georgia....all 3 three children got carsick. None were old enough to hold a bag to vomit in.
7. Harley having just tried on both red lipstick and balmex--and scrubbing that off from head to toe..

And then Milan came a year later...and we had 96 diaper changes a week!...but that's another story.
I think I can handle these little monsters right now.

Oh and one more thing--so she doesn't feel left out--this is my sister, Lisa. She belongs in between me and Sarah above. (Yes, I am the oldest daughter) Lisa was in California at this point with her 3--4 and under and mostly absent Air Force husband, Jamie. Those were some sad phone calls between she and I during that time. Thankfully, everyone, including the husbands have survived. :)
So far.

These memories are wonderful! How exciting you found the disk! I've been going through all digital stuff for the last 2 years getting it all into one place and backed up to a server. ;) You never know when we might wanna reminisce.
