The Homeschool Mother’s Journal Linkup

In my life this week…

It's been a lazy week as I've been getting over a stomach bug. Way too many video games for the kiddos but we were able to:
  • get the boys haircuts
  • enjoy Father's Day with my fantastic husband and awesome father, Jason.
  • sign up for summer camps... bizarre and already starting to make me panic
In our homeschool this week…

It's summertime--so absolutely, blissfully nothing!

Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…

To those homeschooling for the first time in the Fall... only buy the necessities.. you don't need a fully stocked, what you remember from public school, classroom!

I am inspired by…

Pinterest at the moment. :)

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

Time to decorate for VBS on Friday for next week!

My favorite thing this week was…

Watching my daughter rock the Guitar Hero

What’s working/not working for us…

I made two homemade meals this week. Despite despising cooking I *think* it can continue... at least from time to time.

Questions/thoughts I have…

We really need to have a garage sale soon.

Things I’m working on…

HOTM, the August conference, Pinterest ;), signing up for the Fall semester... and possibly tackling painting my kitchen cabinets soon.

I’m reading…

I’m cooking…

Sometimes... but I did make homemade Southern--I mean the real deal because I am an awesome cook but just don't like to-- Chicken Fried Steak, *real* mashed potatoes and homemade gravy with an encore of Taco Soup the next night.

I’m grateful for…

God's grace and mercy.

I’m praying for…

Domesticity.

A photo, video, link, or quote to share…A REAL sign my sister took a picture of.

Good for you on the cooking thing. I'm much like you, I despise it with a passion, but it has to be done. I always feel like such a success when I manage to *really* cook a full-on, home-cooked meal. Haha! Stopping by from the HMJ. Have a great weekend!

Our first year (and ever since) I've over bought when it comes to school supplies and curriculum. It's definitely my weakness. Visiting from HMJ.

I LOVE Pinterest! This has been my first full year of homeschooling and I have SO much curriculum. I did learn what works for us and what doesn't, so it won't be the same next year:)

I am totally inspired by Pinterest at the moment too. ;) I am sorry to hear you were under the weather. I hope your are on the mend now. Interesting sign. I'll have to keep my eye open for that one. Have a fantastic weekend.

Good reminder to buy only the necessities. What is Pinterest?

Eileen.. I love Pinterest.com. It's like a one stop shop for bookmarks--like what you would save and go back to. There are a lot of great ideas pooled there from various places on the web... crafts, homeschool ideas, and things that bring inspiration. It lists people "likes" so to speak. You should take a peek! :)
